If you’re interested in wellness trends, you’ve most likely heard of Bulletproof coffee—A.K.A. adding healthy fats, like organic butter or ghee, to your daily cup of java. This slight adjustment to your morning routine allegedly fuels both your mind and body while also keeping you satiated longer, which means less potential for unhealthy snacking later in the day. We here at Bunny Ears are all about our daily dose of nutrient-infused caffeine, so we soon began to ask “Why stop at coffee?” There’s a whole world of beverages to enjoy in the morning, so why not take the basic principles of our beloved Bulletproof C. and apply them to other drinks?

That’s how we came up with this Bunny Ears–approved recipe for Bulletproof Mountain Dew™. It’s all the flavor of your favorite hyperpigmented sugar water with the added benefits of healthful, unsaturated fats. Talk about doing the Dew!

What You’ll Need:

  • a  blender
  • 2 tablespoons of healthy fat (unsalted organic butter works best, but ghee and coconut butter make for great vegan alternatives)
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • As much Mountain Dew as you care to drink right now—no judgments! (We went with classic formula, but we also highly recommend using this recipe with Code Red and/or Baja Blast. It can also be used with all other Coke or Pepsi products, as well as our very own homemade Four Loko.)

What To Do:

Pour that sweet morning Dew directly into your blender. Add the coconut oil and your choice of healthy fat.

Bunny Ears Exclusive Tip: While definitely not necessary, I personally like to add a fiber source to my blend to further reduce cravings later in the day. Today, I chose flax seeds, but I also enjoy shredded coconut or chia seeds, depending on my mood.

Then, just blend and enjoy! This is what the finished product should look like (I’m currently on keto, so I also added a healthy dose of heavy cream):

For an on-the-go option, just chug half of a 16-ounce bottle of Dew and then shove a stick of butter in there. Shake, then drink at your leisure. (WARNING: Do not mix butter with Mountain Dew Voltage or White Out. Just trust us, okay?)

Note: A number of Bulletproof Mountain Dew™ drinkers have experienced heart palpitations, acid reflux, intense energy crashes, and/or immediate diarrhea (like, immediate) upon consuming their morning brew, so listen to your body and remember that many cultures believe suffering brings us closer to God.

  1. I like that in the tags ‘immediate diarrhea’ is followed …immediately by ‘mountain dew’. I sincerely hope for your body’s sake neither concoction was tested.
