On this week’s episode of the Bunny Ears podcast, Macaulay Culkin and Wil Wheaton (Stand By Me, Toy Soldiers, and Star Trek: The Next Generation) sit down to talk child stardom, shitty parents, and, of course, Trekkie stuff. So if you like any of those things, this is definitely the podcast for you.

Mack and Wil get things started by discussing why “Wil” is only spelled with one “L,” and then quickly find out that they have a lot in common. They delve into coming to terms with bad dads, and whether or not it’s possible to watch your own work objectively as an adult.

Wil shares some stories from his (arguably) most iconic movie, Stand By Me, and talks about his relationships with Corey Feldman, Jerry O’Connell, and the late River Phoenix. He also talks about his experience making Toy Soldiers, and he and Mack bond over having awesome on-set tutors.

They round it all out by talking about Deep Space Nine, comics, and Wil’s thoughts on ultimately having a lasting career in television instead of movies. Oh, and they definitely also talk the tragedy that is the DC movie-verse (how could they not? How could anybody not?).

If you want more of Wil, check him out on WilWheaton.net and on Instagram at ItsWilWheaton. And, as always, if you want more Macaulay Culkin, visit him on Instagram here, Twitter here, and subscribe to his YouTube channel (where he posts a wealth of hilarious content) here.

  1. Hi Mac,

My name is Rob and I have been a long time fan of yours.

I read your book when I was working in a library. Junior, I think. Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and invite you to play Dungeons and Dragons with me, my wife, and my best friend.

    We are all nerds, fyi.

Thanks anyway and I hope you are having a good day.

  2. This was so much fun! & I loved hearing both live’s side by side. I hope you both continue to heal & know you are both so super adored as fellow human beings! OM mani padme hum! <3
I can't wait to listen to all the other interviews! Wil is just a lovely favorite actor of mine !
    XO XO GIRLS LOVE NERDS!

  3. Goddamn. Wow. Thank you both for sharing this conversation about your experience with your parents. Both of you guys *and Feldman* were such icons in my youth and I was hoping the life I saw you guys having was better than mine. Hearing this puts everyone who relates with the information even closer to the three of you.

It’s difficult trying to get through life with absolutely unredeemable, hyper-selfish and destructive parents. Those unfinished conversations trying to fix that, stand up to it, resolve it, never go away.

Mack – You should have Corey on and go through whatever comes up. That would be a worthwhile listen.

All the best to you guys.
