Natural Deodorants You Can Technically Eat If It Ever Came Down To That

If you’re caught in a life-or-death situation where you have to eat your own deodorant just to survive, you don’t want to make the mistake of biting into a non-natural product (that’s why I switched to an all-natural brand several years ago and always keep it on my person). The following deodorants are so safe for your body that you can, and maybe some day will, eat them.

1. Tom’s of Maine Long-Lasting Deodorant

If you ever find yourself stranded in an emergency situation—like, say, your yacht crashes on a deserted island—you can technically eat Tom’s of Maine Deodorant. The organic ingredients include cornstarch, which is in food, and coconut oil, which is also in food. So therefore, this is food. Plus, there are no yucky parabens.

2. Schmidt’s Jasmine Tea Deodorant

Sometimes “emergency” is a relative term and we need to eat our deodorant in non-life-threatening situations. If there’s no food in the house and you’re too lazy to go out, but also too hungry to not eat, Schmidt’s Jasmine Tea Deodorant can serve as the ultimate late-night snack. And honestly, with ingredients like “jasmine tea,” this stick is basically begging you to take a bite.

3. Little Seed Farm Charcoal Deodorant

Little Seed Farm Charcoal Deodorant Cream is perfect for when you’re at a movie or play and can’t make it to the concession stand, but you also just want to snack on something because you’re bored. It’s made from charcoal (guaranteed to naturally cleanse your bowels), baking soda, and “mindful intentions to not sweat a small river from your pits.” It’s non-toxic (minus the charcoal), and the mindful intentions are way more filling than the aluminum found in many similar products.

Above all, your deodorant should give you peace of mind. Even if it doesn’t stop you from smelling, or even if it actually makes you smell worse than no deodorant, you should know that you can eat it if you ever need to/just feel like it.
