Mack Talks To Comedian Esther Povitsky (aka ‘Little Esther’) On This Week’s Podcast!
This week on the Bunny Ears podcast, Macaulay Culkin and Esther Povitsky sit down for a chat. In case you don’t know, Esther (aka “Little Esther”) appeared as Maya on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, wrote and starred in the Freeform comedy Alone Together, is a touring standup comic, and is also about to star alongside Kat Dennings and Brenda Song in Hulu’s new show Dollface (which Mack ALSO appears in! But we’ll get to that later).
Mack kicks things off by getting a rundown of how Esther made her way to Los Angeles from the wilds of Skokie, Illinois (okay, it wasn’t really all that wild), how she got her comedy chops in standup, and the way she’s preparing for her first-ever comedy special.
They then dive into talking about Esther’s new show Dollface, as well as the two days Mack spent on set filming his guest-starring role (it was hot as balls and Mack had a caffeine-induced panic attack, but Esther raves about his performance, so all’s well that ends well). And p.s. – Dollface drops on Hulu in November. So look out!
Leaving the glamorous world of entertainment behind, Mack and Esther then talk about their respective philosophies on eating meat and Mack’s obsession with soup. Mack also gives Esther some solid crafting ideas and explains why you should always carry crayons and a glue stick on your person. Mack also soliloquizes on the benefits of peeing in your own yard, and the pair discuss whether Mack and his special lady friend should get a second dog.
It’s a highly entertaining hour of conversation, and we highly recommend you listen instead of sitting around reading this. Also, if you want to see more of Esther, follow her on Instagram at @esthermonster and on Twitter @littleesther. I’m like that too. When the sun shines in AZ all day. I go weak. Sleepy but insomniacish. Then once the sun is down it’s like the weight of light was lifted.
Sometimes the sunrise, looks like the sunset…
