Are AEW’s Jon Moxley And WWE’s Dean Ambrose The Same Person?
Guys, I’m not totally sure on this, but I think AEW’s Jon Moxley and WWE’s Dean Ambrose might be the same person. It might sound crazy, I know, but go with me on this one.
When Dean Ambrose Quit WWE, Jon Moxley Showed Up in AEW Just a Few Weeks Later
Ambrose wrestled his last match for WWE on April 21st, 2019 in a tag team alongside Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. His contract expired on April 30th. Then, mysteriously, a promo for a wrestler named “Jon Moxley” began appearing on social media at 12:01 A.M. on May 1st. This isn’t definitive proof that Moxley and Ambrose are the same person, but it makes a lot of sense if you think about it.
Dean Ambrose and Jon Moxley Look Almost Identical
Okay, if you put Ambrose and Moxley next to each other, they look damn near identical. Same weird slouch, same scars, same hairline. Heck, if they’re not the same person, they’re at least brothers or cousins or something.
In Moxley’s Podcast Interview with Chris Jericho, He Sure Talked about Dean Ambrose a Lot
In a May 2019 interview on Chris Jericho’s Talk Is Jericho podcast, Moxley talked a lot about working for WWE. He even used “I” statements when referencing Ambrose-centric storylines that he hated. Now, I know this isn’t a DNA test or anything, but if Jon Moxley and Dean Ambrose aren’t the same person, why did he talk about how much he didn’t like being the character Dean Ambrose? I can’t be the only one putting these things together.
Renee Young is Married to Dean Ambrose and Jon Moxley
From the looks of it, Dean Ambrose and Jon Moxley are both married to WWE broadcast journalist Renee Young. There’s a chance that this is just a weird coincidence, but I’m pretty sure that it’s illegal to be married to more than one person at the same time in Nevada. So either Renee married Ambrose, secretly divorced him, and then secretly married Moxley between April and May 2019, or there’s something else going on here.
Jon Moxley and Dean Ambrose Have the Same Real Name and Share a Wikipedia Page
This is perhaps the most damning evidence of all. Jon Moxley and Dean Ambrose share a Wikipedia page and the real-life name “Jonathan David Good.” In a lengthy section called “Professional Wrestling Career,” the site details exactly when Good performed as Moxley and when he performed as Ambrose! Now I’m just an amateur internet sleuth, but I think that tells us a little something about Moxley and Ambrose being the same person … maybe!
